One of the most acclaimed directors of the new generation of Italian authors, Gabriele Mainetti (born in 1976), after a rich career as an actor, in 2008 he shot the short film Basette<\/em>, written by Nicola Guaglianone, starring Valerio Mastandrea, Marco Giallini, Daniele Liotti and Luisa Ranieri. In 2011 he founded the production company Goon Films<\/strong> and started working on the short film Tiger Boy<\/em> (winner of the second edition of the Roma Creative Contest), winner of the 2013 Nastro d’Argento as “Best Short Film”, and finalist for the 2012 Globi d\u2019Oro and David di Donatello 2012. The consecration to the general public, however, comes in 2015 with his debut feature, Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot<\/em><\/strong>, with 16 nominations and 7 awards to David di Donatello<\/strong> in 2016 (including Best Producer, Best New Director and the Mercedes-Benz Future Award). He started his career as an actor when he 12 years old, and in the same years he started shooting his very first short films. He studied acting technique not only in Italy, but also in New York<\/strong> and Los Angeles<\/strong>, where he also attended directing classes. He starred in popular film and tv series as Niente Pu\u00f2 Fermarci<\/em> and Incantesimo<\/em>. His career as a director started with the web series Forse Sono Io<\/em><\/strong>, where he also plays the protagonist, that gets great feedback on line: it was so successful that the tv channel MTV<\/em><\/strong> decided to air the show. Immediately after the release of the series he was noticed by the automotive company Ford<\/em> <\/strong>that entrusted him with the direction of the web advertising campaign of the new Ford Ka<\/em>. In 2016, after directing some short films, awarded in Italy and abroad, he shoots his first feature film, I Peggiori<\/strong><\/em>, an action comedy produced by Federica Lucisano<\/strong> for Italian International Film<\/em>, distributed by Warner Bros Italia<\/em>, in which he performs alongside Lino Guanciale. <\/span>In 2018 he directed his second film Gli Uomini D’oro<\/em><\/strong>, a crime noir, starring Fabio De Luigi, Edoardo Leo, Gianmarco Tognazzi and Giampaolo Morelli which will be distributed from November 1st to 7th 2019. In 2006 he started his collaboration with director Gabriele Mainetti<\/strong>, signing with him the music for the short film Basette<\/em>. In 2007 he signed the music for Come tu mi vuoi<\/strong><\/em> by Volfango De Biasi. In 2010 he won the Golden Aphrodite Best Music Score<\/strong> for the soundtrack of the film Iago<\/em> by Volfango De Biasi. In 2014 he was nominated for the Nastri D\u2019Argento<\/strong> for the soundtrack of the film Pi\u00f9 Buio Di Mezzanotte<\/em> by Sebastiano Riso. In 2015 he works with the director Gabriele Mainetti for the music soundtrack of the film Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot<\/em><\/strong>, receiving the Ciak D\u2019Oro<\/strong> and the nomination for the David di Donatello and the Nastri D\u2019Argento for best soundtrack. In 2018 he was nominated at the David Di Donatello<\/strong> for the film Dogman<\/em><\/strong> by Matteo Garrone. As a storyboard artist and illustrator, he works with the major Italian film and advertising productions, collaborating with important directors, including Gabriele Salvatores, Paolo Sorrentino, Carlo Verdone, Gabriele Mainetti, Ricky Tognazzi, Andrej Kon\u010dalovski , Paolo Genovese, Cosimo Gomez, Sergio Castellitto<\/strong>. <\/span>In the advertising field, he worked for brands such as Honda, Toyota, Missoni, Campari, Ferrero, Ponti, Angelini, De Cecco. In 2016 he won the Pellicola D\u2019Oro<\/strong> award for best storyboard artist, for his work in Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot<\/em><\/strong>, by G. Mainetti. In 2018 he won the same award for Brutti and Cattivi<\/em> <\/strong>by C. Gomez. Advertising and video clips gave him the opportunity to work and test the best technical materials, and made him practicing with post-effects and color correction. Especially videoclips<\/strong> gave him the possibility of treating sought-after images for different targets, working with the greatest Italian and international talents from Zucchero<\/strong> to Jovanotti<\/strong>, from Tiziano Ferro<\/strong> to Elisa<\/strong>, from Fabri Fibra<\/strong> to Ligabue<\/strong>, up to Sting<\/strong> and Mina<\/strong>. He ended up working for the big screen, with a relevant portfolio of feature films directed by well-known directors such as Ligabue, Federico Zampaglione, Cosimo Alem\u00e0 and Giovanni La Parola.
