Roma Creative Contest - International Short Films Festival of Rome opens the calls for the third edition of Screenplay Contest. The contest is open to Italian and foreign authors of screenplays under age 35, which are asked to send the storyline and screenplay for a short film before August 26th, 2017. The screenplay has to be conceived for a short film of maximum lenght of 5 minutes. The project can belong to any genre (comedy, drama, noir, horror, fantasy, science fiction, animation, etc.).

The contest provides 2 awards:

Best Italian Screenplay
1.000 € cash and video and audio post production among Laser Film totalling approximately 6.000 € to be invested in the realization of the winning screenplay.

Best International Screenplay
1.000 € cash 

 

The submissions have to be made exclusively through the Film Freeway platform with 10 $ fee (for the screenplays submitted within July 2nd, 2017) and 15 $ (for the screenplays submitted within August 26th, 2017).

The Artistic Direction of Roma Creative Contest together with the Official Jury of the seventh edition of the Festival will decree the winning screenplays, that will be awarded on September 2017 at Teatro Vittoria in Rome, during the award ceremony of Roma Creative Contest - International Short Films Festival.


 

 

                    


 

NOTICE OF COMPETITION

 

ART. 1 - REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION

1.1 - The competition is addressed to authors (screenwriters and directors) of all nationalities, up to 35 years.

1.2 - Each competitor can participate with a maximum of 3 script, written by a single Author or by multiple Authors.

1.3 - The competition is open only for original storylines (the work is owned by the Author/Authors) and unpublished (subjects that have not previously been published or spread, not already been adapted for films or audiovisual products before the participation in this Contest). The screenplays have to be written in Italian for the section dedicated to Italian authors and in English for the one dedicated to foreigners. The projects can belong to various genre (comedy, drama, noir, horror, fantasy, science fiction, animation, etc.).

1.4 - Scripts taken from literary text - even if unpublished - by an Author different from the participant will be NOT admitted to the Contest.


ART. 2 - AWARDS

The contest provides 2 awards:

Best Italian Screenplay
1.000 € cash and video and audio post production among Laser Film totalling approximately 6.000 € to be invested in the realization of the winning screenplay.

Best International Screenplay
1.000 € cash

The winners will be announced during the award night of Roma Creative Contest 2017.


ART. 3 - ARRANGEMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION

3.1 – The entrance fee for Screenplay Contest 2017 is:

- 10 $, if the project is submitted within July 2nd, 2017 (First Deadline);
- 15 $, if the project is submitted from August 26th, 2017 (Second Deadline);

3.2 - In the absence of the this documentation the Projects will be excluded from the competition.

Storyline (max 1 page)
Screenplay (max 5 pages)


3.3 - The materials must be submitted in PDF format and meet the following criteria: A4 paper, font 12, Times New Roman or Courier, 1.5 space line, 30 lines per page, 60 characters per line. Projects that do not meet these formal criteria will not be admitted to the competition.


ART. 4 - JURY


4.1 - The work of the jury is reserved. The selection will be made, at its sole discretion, by the Artistic Direction of Roma Creative Contest.

4.2 - The Artistic Direction of the Roma Creative Contest will be in charge of the selection of the submitted projects. The selected ones will participate to Screenplay Contest and will compete for the prize;


ART. 5 - DISPUTES

5.1 - In cases of disputes arised between the participants of the Competitions and the Organization according to the interpretation of the clauses of this announcement and the Regulations, as well as the implementation and / or execution of the provisions contained in them, the dispute will be referred to a board of arbitration, which will decide according to the law, ritually, under Articles. 806 et seq. Code of Civil Procedure.
5.2 -The board will consist of three members, one appointed by each of the two parties and the third by the first two or, if they disagree, by the President of the Arbitration Court attached to the C.C.I.A.A. in Rome.
5.3 - The Arbitration Forum will be Rome.
5.4 - The arbitrators shall decide within 120 days after the establishment of the Arbitration Board.


ART. 6 - DISCLOSURE PURSUANT TO ART. 13 OF LEGISLATIVE DECREE 196/2003

(Code regarding the protection of personal data)
The Cultural Association Images Hunters, data controller, informs that personal data will be used to allow competitors to take part in the competition - governed by the provisions of this Regulation.The personal data, which is optional but necessary for these purposes, will not be disclosed and will be processed manually and electronically.  The 
Cultural Association Images Hunters also communicates to participants that they own the rights in art. 7 of Legislative Decree n. 196/2003, including the one related to the cancellation, updating, rectification and integration of data and they also own the right to oppose, for legitimate reasons, their treatment. These rights may be exercised by contacting Cultural Association Images Hunters.
